Spotlight is an innovative drama-based social pragmatics program for students ages 9-22 with social-emotional challenges including Asperger's Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression and Bipolar Disorder, although no diagnosis is necessary to participate. Our six-week summer camp will focus on building important developmental and social skills while including fun and engaging activities such as moviemaking, martial arts, theater games and swimming. www.spotlightprogram.com.

Hooked on Cookin' & Fitness

A 3 day, 4 hours per day Program, with a Saturday morning follow-up on September 11th.
Cost: $225 - Registration Required

Hooked on Cookin’ & Fitness is designed to addresses both proper nutrition and fitness is a 3 day, 4 hours per day program (August 23-25, 2010) that will be followed by a Saturday morning follow-up program September 11, 2010 at 6 Southside Road, Danvers, MA.
Hooked on Cookin’ & Fitness will utilize a modified (for age appropriateness) version of the Exercise and Nutrition Health Education Curriculum for Adults with Developmental Disabilities developed by the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Aging with Developmental Disabilities.
Hooked on Cookin’ & Fitness will begin with a nutritional and fitness assessment for each teen and each class will include both a nutritional and fitness component. Hooked on Cookin’ & Fitness will feature:
• a high staff to participant ratio
• a curriculum that is individualized and targeted for each teen’s level of ability
• individualized instruction to accommodate particular disabilities (communication disorders, sensory issues)
• language and tasks broken down into small components
• more hands on instruction for better understanding of concepts
• frequent check-ins to monitor comprehension
• use of high affect to engage participants in learning
